Years Competing: 6
Years Using ASEA: 4
Favorite ASEA Product: RENU Advanced Ultra Replenishing Moisturizer
ASEA Routine: “I always drink 60 ml (2 oz) of ASEA REDOX before a workout and training, and an additional 60 ml of ASEA REDOX after workout and training. I also use the RENU Advanced Skincare System daily and love the RENU Advanced Ultra Replenishing Moisturizer!”
ASEA Experience: “ASEA has given me the ability to recover much quicker from anything and everything I decide to take on, which is a lot! I am an avid snowboarder, snowmobiler, dirtbiker, wakesurfer, and mountain biker. Training, competing, and being active is my life, so having quicker recoveries and being able to get back to doing the things I love without missing a beat is very important to me. On a personal note, the RENU Advanced Skin Care system is amazing and has given me added confidence whenever I need to strike a pose or be in front of cameras.”
Michelle Salt has always made physical fitness and strength a priority. Perhaps her biggest test of that strength came in June 2011, her strength was truly tested as she faced her most challenging test when she was in a life-threatening motorcycle accident. Michelle broke numerous bones, spent seven days in intensive care, several months in the hospital, endured many surgeries, and ended up losing her right leg above the knee. Looking forward, she knew she had some tough times, but she fearlessly took on every challenge on her road to recovery, which included learning to walk with a prosthetic leg.
Never one to back down from a challenge, Michelle wanted to do much more than recover from her accident. She is now a National Team Athlete for the Canada Snowboard Para Team, a 2x Paralympian (she made history as the first female Canadian Paralympic Snowboarder at the 2014 Winter Paralympics), a 14x World Cup medalist, 3x Para-snowboard National Champion, National Women’s Wakesurfing champion, and an ambassador to many non-profit organizations.
The Person Behind the Athlete:
Being a somewhat new amputee means Michelle now has the opportunity to challenge herself by learning to do everything differently. “I’m proud I’ve been able to return to everything I was involved in before my accident. Not one to settle, I have actively pursued all other interests I have had, such as snowmobiling, dirt biking, wakesurfing, mountain biking, and much more.”
